Mixing a song is similar to baking a cake. It's the art and process of combining several different ingredients together to create a final product that is pleasing to the ear. In music you are combining all the instruments along with effects when needed to create a finished song that can be played in a cd player, on a turntable, or streamed via services like Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal.
Mastering is the final step of audio post-production. Mastering is used to balance all the sounds in a song after the mix to enhance the song when playing it back on various platforms. Mastering typically uses tools like EQ, compression, and limiting. If mixing is like having your car washed, then mastering would be like having it detailed or waxed and polished.
Sound IRS uses OMG Beats for music production services. You can find them at www.omgbeatsonline.com
All final mixes will be delivered in wav and mp3 formats and will include the following mix versions:
Full Mix (All the music and all the vocals included
Acapella Mix (All the vocals but no music included)
Instrumental Mix (All the music but no vocals included)
Performance Mix (All music and all vocals included EXCEPT for the lead vocal on the verses)
We don’t offer returns and exchanges, but if there’s something wrong with your order, please let us know by contacting us at oshay@oshaymusicgroup.com
If you’re unsure which size would fit better, check out our sizing charts that are availabe in the product description. Though rare, it's possible that an item you ordered was mislabelled. If that’s the case, please let us know at oshay@oshaymusicgroup.com within a week after receiving your order. Include your order number and photos of the mislabeled item, and we’ll send you a new one, or issue a refund!
Mixing and Mastering use some of the same tools and concepts but they are not the same. Mixing is applied to all the indivuals music elements in a song like the kick drum, piano, vocals, guitar, etc. Mastering is usually only applied to the finished song once those kick drums, pianos, vocals, guitars, etc have already been mixed together.

Once you have successfully completed the booking form you will receive an email with the same instructions as what's listed below:
Once you have successfully exported all the individual tracks from your recording session (click on the "exporting multitracks" FAQ for more info on this), you will upload the .zip file to www.wetransfer.com and then email us the wetransfer link.
Mixing is the process of adjusting and balancing everything you have already recorded to complete your songs. We'll do things like drop in effects, adjust fader, EQ your tracks and so on. Think of mixing a song like following a recipe for baking a cake. It’s making sure that we don’t put too little or too much of one ingredient into the cake that would overpower another ingredient but making sure that there is space for everything and that all the ingredients work together to create a delicious tasting cake. Mixing is the 2nd to last stage before your song is “release ready”.
If mixing is like baking a cake, mastering is like adding icing to that cake. It is the final step to only enhance the delicious tasting cake, i.e. your mix. In mastering we apply things like limiting to achieve a loudness comparable with other commercial releases without compromising the original feel or quality of your song. We reference other commercially released recordings similar to yours to ensure that your song is sonically on par with or surpassing the quality of comparable songs.
Be sure to label all tracks correctly, export in 24 bit if possible, export for the entire range of the full song, and remove all effect plug ins if possible.
Follow the instructions in these videos to export your tracks based on the DAW you are in:

Having your recording mixed and mastered by an experienced professional will help to distinguish your with superior quality to that of amateurs with inferior quality. Mixing and mastering are designed to compliment, shine, and polish the great song that you’ve already invested time into writing, performing, and recording. Not having your song mixed and mastered is similar to purchasing a brand new car that is dirty and dented when you actually receive the car. Mastering can also ensure that your music meets the criteria specification for that platform on which you intend to release your music.
For recording sessions, your 50% deposit can be refunded if session is cancelled at least 24 hours before the session start time. After this 24 hour windown the 50 deposit is non-refundable and the balance is due at the end of the session and is non-refundable once work has been completed.
Mixing and mastering work cannot be refunded once deposit is paid and work has commenced. We offer unlimited revisions with our mixing and mastering services and take every effort in the intake form to ensure that we have a clear understanding of your vision and expectations for the song.
